Hijama for women
in Queens

If the reason you have put this off is that you did not want a man doing it, that is exactly the reason this practice is set up the way it is. A female practitioner, a partitioned room, and time to ask everything before anything begins.

How modesty is kept

  • Who

    A female practitioner, always

Hasina treats every female client. No man works on a woman here, and that is not a preference we accommodate on request — it is simply how the practice runs.

  • Where

    A separate, partitioned area

Women are treated in their own space, not a curtained corner of a shared room. Ahmad works with male clients in a separate area entirely.

  • How

Only what needs to be uncovered

The area being treated is exposed and nothing else. You stay covered throughout, and you are told what is happening before it happens.

  • With

    Family welcome

Bring your husband, mother or sister and they can wait with you or in the waiting area. Couples and families are booked together and seen separately.

Hasina has been practising for over ten years and has treated more than a thousand clients. Between her and Ahmad the practice speaks English, Farsi and Pashto — see Hasina, female practitioner.

What women come in for

Much of it is the same as anyone who books cupping therapy — backs, heads, sleep. Some of it is not, and those sessions are planned differently.

  • Painful or irregular cycles
  • PCOS symptoms
  • Fertility support
  • Post-natal recovery
  • Migraines
  • Lower back pain
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Poor sleep
  • Stress and tension

Hijama is a complementary therapy and it is not a fertility treatment. It supports circulation and helps with pain and tension; it does not replace a doctor, a diagnosis or medication. We would rather say that plainly than let you book on a false hope — read what the evidence does and does not show.

Timing around your cycle

For general complaints — a bad back, migraines, fatigue — the timing does not matter and you can come whenever suits. For cycle-related and fertility-related sessions it does, and Hasina will plan the visits with you rather than fitting them around the diary.

Wet cupping during menstruation is usually postponed. You are already losing blood, and taking more is not helpful. If your period arrives before your appointment, message and move it — there is no charge and no awkwardness.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Wet cupping is not given during pregnancy. That is not caution for its own sake: it is one of the standard contraindications and we do not make exceptions to it.

The massage cupping and red light therapy are generally fine and are free, which for a lot of women is the useful answer during those months. While breastfeeding, wet cupping is usually possible — mention it at the consultation, along with anything you are taking, and the session is adjusted.

Severe anemia and blood thinners also rule out wet cupping. If you are unsure whether something applies to you, ask before booking rather than after travelling. See who should avoid wet cupping.

Booking

Message on WhatsApp or call. Say that the appointment is for a woman and it will be booked with Hasina automatically. The consultation is free and happens in person before anything is decided, so you can ask everything and still change your mind. Hijama is $10 per cup and nothing else is charged — what that works out at.

Still deciding?

Ask Hasina directly. Nothing is booked from a message, and nothing is pushed.
